There was a story going around back in the day, about a student who loved souvlaki so much, that he called his favorite souvlaki place every single day to place his order, lunch and dinner. One afternoon, he decided to skip an order or two, for a change. A couple of days later, his phone rang – it was the souvlaki place owner, all worried about him: “Are you OK? We haven’t received your order for a while, what are you eating, son?”.
Believe it or not, this story is true! The student is our CTO, Christos and this is how passionate we are about food delivery. It’s the reason why we’ve always wanted to use our tech & design superpowers to create the best digital food ordering experience.
When COSMOTE, the leading technology organisation in Greece, expressed interest in creating a food ordering service, we gladly partnered up to bring our collective vision to life. Together with COSMOTE, we developed BOX’s offering, driven by our main focus: world class user satisfaction.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Desquared Mobile Software Engineer at ΒΟΧ you will:
– Be involved in product development, understand the specifics of the industry and develop a better UX.
– Continuously discover, evaluate, and adopt new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
– Implement and maintain existing and new features.
– Demonstrate engineering excellence by ensuring high performance, testing code, writing documentation and following an agile development methodology.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, you’ll have to meet the following criteria:
– Excellent knowledge of Kotlin or Swift
– At least 3 years of experience developing Android Applications.
– Extensive experience working with REST APIs
– Experience with integrating third party libraries.
– Strong communication and collaboration skills.
– Excellent problem-solving and learning ability.
– Military obligations for male candidates must be fulfilled.
– Proven literacy in English.
If you also meet any of the following, even better:
– Portfolio of published applications on the Google Play Store.
– Experience working within an agile software development system.
– University and/or Postgraduate Degree in the field of Computer Science or related field of studies.
